Continuity gives us roots; change gives us branches, letting us stretch and grow and reach new heights. ~Pauline R. Kezer
So it has been with our household this month, with many changes, and much growth. I wonder where to begin sharing what has happened in our home and then it comes to me.... begin with gratitude. Gratitude for the Lenten season which allows me to see more clearly the beauty in each day of our lives together as a family. When we strip away all the nonsense and chatter and focus on the essential and the simple. This month I had intended to give you updates on our Oz-some unit study and I will to a degree but that is not where I found our Oz-someness this month. It reminds me of the story of Elijah when the Lord passes by and God is not in the the wind, or the earthquake, or the fire, but in the quiet whisper. I have been fortunate enough to hear the whisper. Most of you will be reading this on Facebook but I have to admit that much of my clarity came from stripping away this entertaining but time consuming little habit. It gave me time to do other things, things I enjoy, and it gave me time to be grateful.
So on the list of things this month to be grateful for I have to give high praise to a fabulous system that I have known about for well over a year and finally purchased and implemented in our home. It is called Accountable kids and I could have never imagined what a huge difference it would make. Lets just say that I no longer have to constantly remind my children to do what needs to be done because, they are doing it on their own, and they are doing it happily. We have more quality family time, fun, and laughter than ever before.

Of the many fun things our family has been doing cooking happens to be a favorite! This month we tried our hands at a really yummy carrot soup and a pesto risotto and the results were unanimous........
"It was awesome!"
Gardening also happens to be one of the things we like to do around here .This month we are thankful for the absolutely bizarre weather that has allowed our peas and collards to do so well.
With all this family time on our hands we were also able to build a very fun project( well the kids and my husband were.....)!
First wall for the putt putt castle
windmill
power tools!!!!
Well, I could go on and on but right now I am going to go and be grateful for sleeping children and a comfy bed. Sir John Templeton once said " An attitude of gratitude creates blessings" I do believe he was right.........
